Craft chocolate has developed differently across markets, shaped by local cacao, consumers, culture and the way chocolate is made and sold. So, what can India learn from the experiences of other craft chocolate markets?
- Panel discussion with perspectives from India, Thailand and Hong Kong
- Exploring how different markets have built their craft chocolate cultures
- Understanding how consumers understand and respond to craft chocolate
- Discussing what makes a great chocolate experience
Moderated by Martin Christy of the International Institute of Chocolate & Cacao Tasting, the conversation will look beyond borders to ask: what can India take from other markets, and what can the world learn from India?
The panel brings together leading voices from the global and Indian craft chocolate industry, spanning chocolate tasting, entrepreneurship, cacao sourcing, and bean-to-bar production. Martin Christy, founder of the International Institute of Chocolate & Cacao Tasting, brings expertise in chocolate evaluation and flavour profiling. Jeffrey Lee and Boo Bhumirat add international perspectives to the conversation, while Devansh Ashar of Pascati and Akhil Grandhi of Bon Fiction bring hands-on experience in building Indian craft chocolate brands. Chaitanya Muppala, founder of Manam Chocolate, contributes insights into cacao sourcing, post-harvest innovation, and developing India's potential as a fine-flavour cacao origin. Together, the panellists will explore the challenges, opportunities, and lessons that can shape the future of India's craft chocolate industry.
